The night wave came unexpectedly. She may have run thousands of miles to meet me on this shore. She brought the sounds and smells of salt water, the light of the now invisible sun reflected by the lunar mirror. It brought back memories of the millions of years since my ancestor, who looked nothing like me, stepped onto the ocean perhaps in this very place. The night wave also brought the power of a distant storm, the power of lunar gravity and the energy of space. She kissed my lips with salt spray.
